Dr. Jean Parker Edwards has taught at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon for several years. She has directed numerous research projects related to issues of adolescent transition and adult life for persons with disabilities. She is partially known for her work with community integration and had directed a number of successful job placement and community living programs. She is an adjunct faculty member at Oregon Health Sciences University and directs the Social/Sexual Training Program for persons with disabilities. Jean’s list of accomplishments is long, including over 500 lectures, papers and offices both nationally and internationally. Portland chose her as its youngest Women of Accomplishment in 1974 for her outstanding service to persons with retardation, and the Oregon Association for Retarded Citizens, selected her for its highest honor, the Sylvia Mann Capper Award in 1973.  Jean is a prolific writer, some of her books are:

                                                     Rebecca Harrison was born and raised in Oregon. Her first book, Child Abuse: A Guide for Professionals was co-authored with Jean Edwards and published in 1983. Her most recent book, Deep Dark and Dangerous: On the Bottom with the Northwest Salvage Divers was published in 2006.

Her academic credits include an M.S. in Education from Portland State University. Harrison is a retired teacher; she now travels and writes, while living with her husband, in Oregon.
